MenuIt has undergone a Icon system recoding and I am delighted to announce new jolly good improvements!:

Ripping of icons (using of the application's original icon instead of the one time-consumingly assigned by the user) supported!
Icon selection has been divided into categories to increase comfort

Yes, even on Xmas I go to bake my eyes in front of my PC. Well, wish you all a happy christmas, an even happier new year full of the happiest things, successes and as they say fulfilled wishes.

I personally wish to be able to finish my projects as soon as possible. ;)

BTW, Christmas here in Prague don't have the right atmosphere, since there is no snow whatsoever!

I threw Disc Broom onto http://www.freewarefiles.com to see what people will say about it - and guess what, I discovered a bug! So, it seems to be the time for some debugging...

The next thing I noticed that Disc Broom went to http://softpedia.com too. Funny, hope that'll get me enough publicity for MenuIt :). Check this out:

MenuIt has progressed and I'm proud to say that it is already full of functions and features you probably won't find in neither in Window's Start nor in free KDE Menu! Loading has been solved by adding a small Trigger Button (that blue box in the middle of the screenshot) always floating above all applications , which you can drag along the whole monitor, so it doesn't cover parts you need to see. The menus don't run of the screen, the menus nest just like in Windows or KDE, you can do cut-copy-paste and...

Well, MenuIt is capable of loads of other goodies! Wait until everything's finished!

The Future

So how's the future going to look like (for me at least)? Firstly, I'll get rid of all the tedious school homework to do and then I'll finish off MenuIt. After that, I'll work a bit in a 3D program called Blender, as I am thinking of making a short (probably very feeble) movie in this app so I need some practice. And then, I'll see...

This small Flash utility will help you to draw lab apparatus (the most common ones) and compose them into a whatever you want. It is NOT a professional's tool, but it's relatively good for quick presentations and also quite simple to use (although editing is rather quirky). There is no help to this file, but I believe this program is so simple that you can figure it all out. ;)

MenuIt Debugged!

Finnaly, the small annoying error inside the code was corrected! The error arose due to the difference in screen resolution on different computers, but it's finally fixed! After the Pytel project, I'll return back to MenuIt and finish it, probably before Christmas (but it ain't guaranteed).
Performance test look pretty good:

Pentium Celeron, 1.7 GHz, 256 MB RAM:Takes cca 900 ms to load (normal circumstances, without running CPU eaters like Photoshop :D ), runs smoothly and peak CPU usage is 50 %.

Pentium III, 450 MHz, 128 MB RAM:Takes cca 3 s (bit long, but further optims are to come) but runs smoothly too, no clogs. I don't know the peak CPU usage, haven't tested that yet.

After a long and struggling search for a good freehosting, I returned back to the www.wz.cz. freehosters. Those bastards on Profitux forgot to send me my bloody login info and Orgfree.com restricts files too much. Well, 50 MB must do, but we'll see if we can do something about the file restriction on Orgfree...

Pytel is a Czech word for a bag and that is what this site is about. Well, not really selling of bags or their illegal trading via net, but a place, where you can put your files, documents and similar stuff safely, so somethin' like a net bag. This thingy should be finished in no more than two weeks, so check for it.

There has been a long pause before I posted another post :D. That, however does not mean we were idling - no way! On 1.10. I started another ambitious project called MenuIt, which should effectively displace the Start menu in Windows. I aim it to look like the KDE Menu (see http://www.kde.org/screenshots/images/3.2/snapshot02.png)

Development is running well, I had some problems with getting transparent icons on the menu panel, but thank god it works now (little cunning Alpha channels! :) ). I am half way through and would be delighted to post first screenshot as soon as MenuIt will get some more smart make-up.

Grid Map finished!

As travelling in Horze Racez becomes more complex and realistic (currently 3 vehicles are supported), a map would be handy in this game. Instead of a classic map, we devised a grid map, where only selected cities and the connections between them are shown. The user can drag the cities freely on the map, making Grid Map a very comfortable tool!

In the past few weeks I have been working quite hard on new icons (pictures) for the action buttons in the menu. I have also changed the layout (a little bit). And I have also made a wonderful new picture of a boat and bus and I have improved the picture of train and airplane as well

Since we are having exams in our school, the work on the projects will be temporarily stopped. We will resume our work by the beginning of July, the programming part will not be started until the end of July as Hai will be away for a month (away from all of you :) ). Nevertheless, Horze Racez 1.80 should be released by the end of August, but we all will do our best to finish this version as soon as possible.

Nová, záložní (oficiální anglická) stránka

Chtěl bych všechny informovat, o vytvoření záložní webové stránky http://horzeracez.webpark.cz, kde naleznete downloady na poslední verze a spolu s nimi i screenshoty a licenci. Stránka zároveň slouží jako oficiální anglická stránka, tudíž je kompletně v angličtině.

Aby stránka nevypadala příliš staticky, doplnil jsem dodatečně jednu online strategii, takže se hezky bavte!

Schůze 31.5

Svolávám všechny členy micronu k důležité schůzi pořádanou dne 31.5, kde budou probrány detaily příští verze Horze Racez, už s označením 1.80.21. Schůze by měla začít před tutorem, tedy okolo 8:05 v roomu pana Baileyho a posléze by pokračovala o Breaku a pokud bude potřeba tak ještě o Lunchi okolo 12:45.

Nejedná se o příliš důležitou schůzi, mužete ji klidně propásnout, je však doporučeno, aby se všichni zúčastnili. Zatím se mějte pěkně a zdar!

This is a version of Horze Racez, with revision number 20. In this update of the game you'll find these features:

- bugfix of the 'Overflow' error, now you can have 6 million and the game doesn't crash.
- buying and selling shares of 6 different stables
- self-closing announcement window (10 secs after opening)
- upgraded banks (they don't like you and they are not so generous anymore :) )
- menu and keyboard shortcuts increasing the user's comfort
- more interesting and funnier newspapers ;)

Připravujeme "Horze Racez Database"

Abychom učinili hru atraktivnější, rozhodli jsme se na internetu vytvořit databázi, kam budou hráči moci posílat své výsledky (profit) a soutěžit mezi sebou o co nejlepší umístění v žebříčku Horze Racez.

Vzhledem k tomu, že se jedná o relativně náročný úkol*, počítejte s otevřením databáze během jeden a půl měsíce.

*Nejprve je třeba naprogramovat ukládací funkci "SAVE", která je pro uskutečnění databáze nezbytná.

Know Hanoi Towers? Really easy rules: move all discs from the first tower to the last one and you cannot put a larger disc onto a smaller one. The game is written in C language. Although it is just a DOS game, it has been coloured.

Tuto verzi jsem napsal jako svůj úkol na IT ve druháku, pro pana Jarvise. Do dvojky má sice dost daleko, ale za to podporuje multiplayer (ovšem ne netový, jen na jednom počítači). Zajímavá vykopávka, taktéž doporučuji.

POZOR: Tuto verzi už za žádnou cenu vyvíjet nebudu, jakékoli poznámky mějte k Horze Racez 2!
